10 Week risk/reward weight loss challenge

My 10 week risk/reward challenge is taking the best two elements from a recent study on the benefits of having either a risk, a reward, or nothing at all as an incentive to help people lose weight.

The study was based on a group of participants that had a common goal of losing weight. They were split up into three different categories, risk, reward, and neutral. Goals were set at the beginning, and those with a risk were fined a cash sum penalty, those with a reward had a cash prize incentive, and those with neutral had neither penalty or reward. The study showed that those with the most to lose had indeed lost the most weight, whilst those with cash reward came in second. I have incorporated the risk and reward to make for the best weight loss 10 week program.

The program will work like this.

10 weeks of indoor/outdoor training twice a week with an extra 3 goals per week that can be monitored on a smart phone to be done in your own time. When you fail to meet a goal, a fine of $2 will be incurred that will contribute to the reward prize pool for the person with most weight lost.

Some of the reward will be taken out of the initial cost of the 10 week program adding to the penalties to make it quite a tidy sum.

Minimum 4 people per challenge, max 6, and challenges are subject to getting the correct numbers together to make it viable.

*Cost is $350 per person and $50 per person will be allocated to the reward. So in a group of 6, you have the opportunity to recupe $300 plus penalties (pretty good odds).*

*Reward will be as stated unless a person has found a group of their own to train with. In this case their fee will be deducted.
